Ibanez AE160-VMS

The Ibanez AE160-VMS is a 6-string acoustic-electric guitar from the AE series, featuring Ibanez's contemporary shallow AE body with a Venetian cutaway. Its solid Sitka Spruce top is paired with Ovangkol back and sides and X-M Bracing, producing a clear, balanced and responsive acoustic tone with a defined low end, crisp treble and broad dynamic range. The shallow AE body is designed to combine projection, tonal balance and playing comfort, while the cutaway provides convenient access to the upper frets.

The guitar features a Comfort Grip Nyatoh neck with a Thermo Aged Ovangkol fretboard and Thermo Aged Ovangkol scalloped bridge. Its 634 mm (25") scale length, 43 mm nut width and 400 mm fretboard radius provide a comfortable playing feel. The 20-fret construction features specially designed Abalone inlays and an Abalone soundhole rosette. Thermo Aged treatment is used on the fretboard and bridge to improve stability, while Ibanez Advantage bridge pins make string changes easier and help keep the strings securely positioned.

For amplified performance, the AE160-VMS uses an Ibanez T-bar Undersaddle pickup paired with an AEQ-TP2 preamp featuring an onboard tuner. Volume, Bass and Treble controls allow direct adjustment of the amplified sound, while balanced XLR and 1/4-inch outputs provide flexible connections for acoustic amplifiers, PA systems and recording equipment. Chrome die-cast tuners with an 18:1 gear ratio and D'Addario XTAPB1253 strings complete the instrument. The Vintage Mahogany Sunburst High Gloss finish gives the guitar a polished, distinctive appearance.
