Product details
Ibanez AZ42P1 Premium
The Ibanez AZ42P1 is a Premium-series 6-string electric guitar designed around the AZ platform's combination of ergonomic comfort, versatile electronics and modern playability. It features an American Basswood body paired with an AZ Oval C Roasted Maple neck and Rosewood fingerboard, providing a balanced, focused tonal response and a smooth playing feel. The ergonomic AZ body incorporates a shallow rear contour and generous forearm contour, while the Super All Access Neck Joint facilitates comfortable access to the upper reaches of the 24-fret neck. The AZ42P1 features a Seymour Duncan Hyperion HH pickup configuration, with passive/Alnico humbuckers at both the neck and bridge positions. The Hyperion pickups use Alnico-5 magnets and moderate output to retain fundamental clarity and defined pick attack, particularly when used with distortion and effects. Ibanez's dyna-MIX10 switching system with Alter Switch provides ten tonal variations, including Power Tap modes that produce single-coil-like tones from the dual-humbucker configuration. This gives the guitar a broad range of clean, edge-of-breakup and high-gain sounds. (ibanez.com)
Hardware includes a Gotoh T1502 tremolo bridge with steel saddles, a die-cast zinc tremolo block and 10.5 mm string spacing. Gotoh MG-T locking machine heads provide tuning stability and simplify string changes, while the Graph Tech nut supports smooth string movement. The Rosewood fingerboard features Mother-of-Pearl dot inlays, luminescent side dots and 24 jumbo stainless-steel frets for durability and clear articulation. The AZ42P1 is finished in Prussian Blue Metallic with chrome hardware and is supplied with an Ibanez gig bag. (ibanez.com)
