Ibanez GSR205

The Ibanez GSR205 is a 5-string electric bass from the GIO series, built around the comfortable and lightweight GSR body design. Its Okoume body and GSR5 Maple neck provide a balanced combination of resonance, stability and comfortable playability, while the 34-inch scale length gives the instrument a familiar feel for both developing and experienced bassists. The five-string configuration adds a low-B string, making the GSR205 suitable for rock, metal, pop, funk, gospel and other styles that benefit from an extended low range.

The bass features Dynamix H passive humbucking pickups in both the neck and bridge positions, producing a rich and powerful bass tone with good versatility. Individual volume controls allow the two pickups to be blended, while the master tone control provides additional tonal shaping. The onboard Phat II active bass boost EQ can add substantial low-end power when a deeper, more pronounced bass response is required.

The B15 bridge provides 16.5 mm string spacing and adjustable intonation for dependable tuning and playing stability. A Purpleheart fretboard with white dot inlays, 22 medium frets and a 305 mm radius provide a smooth and comfortable playing surface. The current Asian-market version is offered in finishes including Black (BK) and Blue Moon Burst (BMT), with chrome hardware, standard G-D-A-E-B tuning and .045–.125 string gauges.
