Ibanez IEGS6

The Ibanez IEGS6 is a 6-string electric guitar string set designed for players who prefer a Super Light gauge and a comfortable, responsive playing feel. These nickel-wound strings are well suited to electric guitar applications where easy fretting, bending, vibrato, and fast playing are important. The .009–.042 configuration provides a light overall tension while maintaining a versatile tonal response.

The Super Light gauge makes the IEGS6 particularly suitable for players who want reduced string tension and easier playability. The nickel-wound construction is designed for the requirements of electric guitars, making the set suitable for a broad range of playing styles including rock, pop, blues, lead guitar, and general practice. The six-string configuration uses progressively heavier gauges to provide a balanced feel across the fretboard.

The IEGS6 uses a standard nickel-wound construction and comes in the following gauges: .009, .011, .016, .024, .032, and .042. This specification has been part of the Ibanez IEGS electric-guitar string lineup across multiple catalog generations, making it a dependable replacement option for compatible 6-string electric guitars.
