Ibanez IEGS8

The Ibanez IEGS8 is an 8-string electric guitar string set designed in a Super Light gauge for extended-range electric guitars. Its nickel-wound construction provides a versatile string setup for modern electric guitar applications, offering a relatively light playing feel across the set while retaining the additional low-end range required by an 8-string instrument.

The Super Light configuration uses .009, .011, .016, .024, .032, .042, .054, and .065 gauges. This combination provides lighter tension on the higher strings for easier bending and expressive playing, while the heavier seventh and eighth strings provide the additional low-register range needed for extended-range riffs, chords, and modern guitar techniques.

The IEGS8 uses nickel-wound construction and is specifically configured as an 8-string set. It is suitable as a replacement set for compatible 8-string electric guitars and is particularly well suited to players working with extended-range techniques, heavy riffs, lead parts, and contemporary electric guitar styles.
