Ibanez RGIB21-BK
Product details
Ibanez RGIB21-BK
The Ibanez RGIB21-BK is a baritone electric guitar from the RG family, built for players who want extended low-end range without moving to a seven-string instrument. Its defining feature is the Nitro Baritone 3-piece Maple/Bubinga neck and extended 712 mm (28") scale length, which allows the guitar to be tuned significantly lower than a conventional electric guitar while retaining clear note definition. The current specification uses an Okoume body, Rosewood fretboard and 24 jumbo frets. (Ibanez)
The RGIB21-BK uses an EMG 60 active ceramic humbucker in the neck position and an EMG 81 active ceramic humbucker at the bridge. This HH configuration provides a combination of thick, full neck tones and focused, aggressive bridge tones, making the guitar particularly effective for heavy riffs and low-tuned applications. A 3-way pickup selector and master volume provide straightforward control over the instrument's electronics. (Ibanez)
For stable low-tuning performance, the guitar features a Gibraltar Standard III fixed bridge, Gotoh MG-T locking machine heads and a 45 mm nut. Luminescent side dots improve fretboard visibility in darker environments, while the Black (BK) finish and Cosmo Black hardware give the instrument a restrained, modern appearance. It comes factory-tuned to B standard, with D'Addario EXL157 strings in a .014–.068 gauge set. (Ibanez)

The Ibanez RGIB21-BK is best suited to guitarists who need a dedicated low-tuned baritone guitar for metal, hard rock, progressive music and heavy riffing. Its 28-inch scale, B-standard factory tuning, EMG 60/81 pickup combination and fixed Gibraltar bridge make it particularly well suited to producing tight, articulate low-register tones while retaining conventional six-string playing familiarity.
