Product details

Ibanez PF16MWCE-OPN

The Ibanez PF16MWCE-OPN is a Performance Series acoustic-electric guitar featuring a cutaway dreadnought body and an all-okoume construction. The okoume top, back and sides provide a warm, woody tonal character, with a clear and punchy response when strummed and a smooth, warm character for softer playing and fingerpicking. Its full-sized dreadnought body provides substantial projection, while the cutaway offers easier access to the higher frets, making it suitable for strumming, fingerstyle playing, songwriting, practice and live performance.

A key feature of the PF16MWCE-OPN is its 48 mm wide nut, providing additional fingerboard space for players with larger hands or those accustomed to wider classical-guitar necks. The PF Nyatoh neck is paired with a Laurel fretboard featuring 20 frets, a 400 mm radius and an approximately 25.5-inch scale length. For amplified use, the guitar is equipped with an Ibanez undersaddle pickup and AEQ-2T preamp with an onboard tuner. The preamp provides bass, treble and volume controls, while the tuner can be operated without the guitar being connected to an amplifier.

The guitar features a Laurel bridge, bone nut, compensated bone saddle and chrome die-cast tuning machines with an 18:1 gear ratio. Ibanez Advantage™ bridge pins provide secure string anchoring and make string changes easier, while the acrylic pearl soundhole rosette and white dot inlays complement the natural appearance. The OPN version has an Open Pore Natural finish that leaves the grain and texture of the okoume visible. It is fitted with Ibanez IACS6C coated strings and uses a 9V-powered electronics system with a 1/4-inch output.
