Yamaha FC35 Three-Pedal Unit for Digital Piano

The Yamaha FC35 Three-Pedal Unit is an optional piano pedal accessory designed to provide a more authentic acoustic-piano playing experience with compatible Yamaha digital pianos. Featuring three individual pedals—Damper, Sostenuto and Soft—the FC35 gives pianists greater control over sustain, note separation and tonal expression. Its compact, floor-standing design makes it suitable for home practice, music lessons, rehearsals and portable performance setups. Finished in a simple, understated style, it complements compatible Yamaha P Series, Portable Grand and Clavinova digital pianos.

Designed for expressive and precise pedal control, the FC35 supports half-pedaling functionality through its Damper pedal. This allows players to vary the sustain effect according to how far the pedal is pressed, enabling more nuanced phrasing and smoother transitions between notes. The Sostenuto pedal sustains selected notes while allowing subsequently played notes to remain unaffected, while the Soft pedal modifies the response of compatible piano sounds for more delicate passages. These three functions make the FC35 particularly useful for classical repertoire, expressive piano arrangements and developing proper pedal technique.

The FC35 connects to compatible instruments through a single mini-DIN connection and features a rubberised base designed to minimise slipping during use. Unlike pedal units that require a dedicated furniture-style stand, the FC35 can be positioned independently on a suitable floor surface, offering greater flexibility for portable piano setups. It is compatible with selected Yamaha digital pianos, including the P-125, P-125a, P-225, P-515, P-525, P-S500 and DGX-670, along with supported Clavinova models. For the P-125, P-125a and P-225, Yamaha recommends using the FC35 with a compatible optional stand rather than placing the piano on a desk, as desk placement can put pressure on the pedal cable.
