Yamaha YAS-280 Alto Saxophone

The Yamaha YAS-280 is a student-level Eb alto saxophone designed for beginners and developing musicians. Known for its comfortable playing feel, reliable construction and excellent intonation, it provides a strong foundation for learning saxophone. Its bright, characteristic saxophone tone and ergonomic design make it suitable for music lessons, school bands, ensembles and individual practice. The gold-lacquered finish gives it a classic and elegant appearance.

The YAS-280 features a specially designed 280-style neck that makes sound production easier, helping beginners develop a consistent tone. Its redesigned neck receiver promotes quick response and improves the durability of the connection. The traditional 62-style body shape contributes to a bright sound and lighter playing feel. Regular key posts reduce resistance, while the improved low B–C# connection helps ensure clear response in the lower register.

For comfortable handling, the saxophone includes an adjustable thumb rest and polyester key buttons. Its High F# and Front F auxiliary keys expand its playing range and fingering options. The two-piece brass bell is carefully constructed for a resonant response, while the integrated J-style key guard helps protect the keys and pads. It is supplied with a Yamaha 4C mouthpiece and a semi-hard carrying case.
